WHAT’S NOT ALLOWED IN USA BOXING
- Hitting below the belt
- Holding, tripping, kicking, or kneeing
- Headbutts, elbows, forearms, shoulders
- Hitting with open glove, wrist, or side of hand
- Punching the back of the head, neck, or kidneys
- Backhand/pivot punches
- Holding the ropes while punching
- Wrestling or throwing in the clinch
- Hitting a downed opponent
- Holding and hitting at the same time
- Locking or trapping the opponent’s arms
- Ducking below the opponent’s beltline
- Excessive shelling/running/turning away
- Talking during the match
- Ignoring the referee’s “break” command
- Punching after “break” is called
- Aggressive behavior toward the referee
- Spitting out the mouthpiece intentionally
- Sticking the lead hand out to block vision
- Biting
- Faking an injury
